A 26-year-old man was fatally struck late Wednesday night by a tractor trailer on Interstate 55 in Collinsville.

A state police news release said the victim, Devin C. Smart, of St. Louis, exited his vehicle and was walking on the shoulder of the highway. For an unknown reason, he entered the roadway and was struck by a truck-tractor semi-trailer.
