British luxury automaker Rolls-Royce said on Wednesday it will invest 300 million pounds ($376 million) to expand its Goodwood plant to focus more on bespoke cars for high-end clients, featuring anything from gold sculptures to mother-of-pearl artwork.

The chief executive of luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce Motors has told The National that increased investment in its Goodwood plant in the UK comes on the back of "very strong" demand for complex bespoke commissions in the Middle East.

The investment will also prepare Goodwood site for the company’s transition to an all-battery electric vehicle future.

Rolls-Royce revealed that the Middle East was its largest Bespoke region by average spending per vehicle, closely followed by North America and Europe, with clients prepared to spend upwards of £500 million (€599.4 million) on customising vehicles.

In 2024 alone, the BMW unit said its "artisans crafted exquisite details" that included solid 18-carat gold sculptures, embroideries consisting of more than 869,500 stitches, wood veneers including 500 individually-shaped pieces of wood and holographic paint finishes.
