Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called for restraint between India and Pakistan upon landing in New Delhi on Thursday, state media reported, a day after India targeted what it says are “terrorist camps” in Pakistan in retaliation for a deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir last month.

Iran’s foreign minister has held talks with top Pakistani officials to try and mediate in the escalation between Islamabad and New Delhi after last month’s deadly attack on tourists in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called for de-escalation between India and Pakistan during a visit to New Delhi, stressing the need for regional peace and economic cooperation.
