The investigation into a Jeju Air crash in South Korea has found both engines on the plane sustained bird strikes but the pilots turned off a less-damaged one just before its crash-landing.

The interim findings, based on cockpit voice recordings, flight data and wreckage analysis, showed the flight crew mistakenly switched off the less-damaged left engine rather than the right engine that had suffered the bird strike.

Investigators found the Jeju Air flight crash-landed with only its badly damaged right engine on, but experts warned against drawing early conclusions.
