Ariana Grande is slated to star in the next installment of the " Meet the Parents " franchise. Universal Pictures confirmed to "Good Morning America" on Friday that the Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated " Wicked " actress will star alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the new film, which is expected to arrive next year.

The music superstar and recent Oscar nominee will be appearing alongside the likes of Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Robert De Niro in the latest entry.

John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three prior films, penned the screenplay for the new installment and is set to direct the comedy for Universal.
