A flood watch will go into effect for much of south Louisiana later this week as a slow-moving low-pressure system heads toward the Gulf of Mexico, bringing with it the potential for downpours and flash flooding along the Gulf Coast.

EDT a flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Wednesday at 12:15 a.m. EDT for Gogebic and Ontonagon counties.

Just one day after a fast-moving storm swept through New Jersey, causing dramatic rescues, a home explosion, and multiple deaths, officials have issued both a Flood Watch and Heat Advisory for the region.

The flood watch, in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday, applies to Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie, Hays, Kerr, Llano, Travis and Williamson counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for York County and much of central Pennsylvania. There is also a flash flood warning for west central York County until 3:30 p.m.
