PHILADELPHIA - Botafogo's Club World Cup run unravelled in the cruellest way as fierce domestic rivals Palmeiras ended their campaign with a 1-0 extra-time victory on Saturday that ended the momentum building around the famous Rio de Janeiro club.

Paulinho worked his way between a pair of defenders and rolled a shot into the back of the net in extra time to put Palmeiras into the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Brazilian league rival Botafogo.

The all-Brazilian round of 16 matchup at Lincoln Financial Field will feature a team that wears the Eagles' colors, and players on both sides who used to play in MLS.
