Impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was taken on Wednesday to a detention center near the country's capital, Seoul, after being questioned by law enforcement officials over his imposition of martial law last month.

Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested and questioned by authorities in relation to a criminal insurrection investigation, saying he was only cooperating with what he called an illegal probe to avoid violence.
