Rishabh Pant's recovery after a severe car accident and a major surgery has led the Indian cricket team to handle his workload cautiously. Despite his aggressive innings in India's second innings, Pant was kept from wicketkeeping to ensure his full recovery.

India captain Rohit Sharma said they will have to carefully manage Rishabh Pant's workload for the remainder of the series against New Zealand after the wicketkeeper-batsman suffered a knee injury in their eight-wicket defeat by the tourists.

On Pant not keeping wickets after picking up an injury, Rohit said, "It's just to be a little careful about where he is at and what he is to us"
