CHARLOTTE — Bill Belichick took the stage Thursday in front of a ballroom packed with reporters and shielded his eyes. The lights were indeed bright, though not too bright for the six-time Super Bowl -winning head coach.

Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels are reportedly looking to leave the ACC. There's been a lot of conference movement over the past decade-plus. North Carolina has always been seen as a top-tier potential addition for conferences like the Big Ten and the SEC.

Belichick avoided the rows of radio reporters in the hotel lobby and spent much of the morning in a hallway outside the green room for players and coaches, down the hall from private rooms for interviews with ESPN.com, SiriusXM and the ACC Digital Network.
