Voters headed to the polls in the Ward 8 special election Tuesday to decide whether to return a lawmaker charged with bribery to the D.C. Council or opt for new leadership. The Ward 8 seat is vacant after former Council member Trayon White Sr.
The DC Council Ward 8 seat has been vacant since February when Trayon White was expelled by his colleagues following a federal bribery indictment.
Voters in Ward 8 are heading to the polls for a special election to fill an empty seat on the D.C. Council. That empty seat came after the Council voted to remove member Trayon White, who was indicted on bribery charges.
GLAA gave Sheila Bunn the highest rating on LGBTQ issues in Ward 8's Council race. Trayon White was not rated due to ethics violations.
