Capital One Financial services has completed its acquisition of former credit card rival Discover Financial Service, the companies announced on Sunday.

“This deal brings together two innovative, mission-driven companies that together are poised to deliver breakthrough products and experiences to consumers, businesses, and merchants,” said Richard D. Fairbank, Founder and CEO of Capital One, in a statement provided to CNET.

Capital One Financial Corp. announced Sunday it had completed its acquisition of Discover Financial Services, ending a long regulatory approval process after announcing the merger agreement in February 2024.
