Chris McMonigle says the Jets are interviewing a ridiculous amount of head coaching candidates, but seem to have no interest in two of the most qualified people.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith has started his interviews for open head coaching positions in this cycle. This morning, Smith interviewed for the open Chicago Bears job, and on Thursday,

Unlike the college job at his alma mater North Carolina, which Smith turned down, he at least has some interest in joining the Jets or Bears, as he’s taking the interviews.

The Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders are the only NFL teams looking to fill general manager and head coach vacancies this offseason. The Green & White are one of six clubs (Raiders, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints) searching for a head coach.
