Local meteorologists say Louisianans should prepare for freezing temperatures, power outages and travel delays.

Louisiana leaders are set to talk about what residents can expect from the incoming winter weather that is part of a major ice storm in the U.S.

LA forecast includes sunny days, possible showers, with temperatures ranging from the 50s at night to the high 70s.

A winter storm is expected to bring serious impacts across the state starting Friday, especially in central and north Louisiana. Gov. Jeff Landry urged residents to plan ahead for the inclement and potentially dangerous weather conditions.
