A police officer was injured apprehending two suspects who fled a stolen U-Haul and were found in the basement of a home with unlocked doors in New Haven. The incident began unfolding as police on Wednesday shortly after 7 p.m. saw a stolen U-Haul on Davis Street in the area of Fairfield Street, according to the New Haven Police Department.

A New Haven officer injured his hand Wednesday evening by a suspect after two people tried to steal a U-Haul truck, police said.
