Elon Musk’s Greenland jokes fall flat at Davos in awkward moment — as he unveils plan to sell robots
Elon Musk’s surprise Thursday appearance at the World Economic Conference got off to a rocky start with a failed joke about Greenland and some awkward stumbles – though he also announced plans to sell humanoid robots by the end of 2027 and achieve approval for “full self-driving” vehicles overseas.
Jan 20 (Reuters) - Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Tuesday that early production rate of the company's Cybercab robotaxi and its humanoid robot Optimus will be "agonizingly slow" before accelerating over time.
Musk previously said the autonomous Cybercab would begin production in April 2026. He also said “low production” of Optimus robots would begin by 2025 so they could be used in Tesla’s factories. He said “high production” of the Optimus robots would “hopefully” come in 2026, and allow other companies to use the robots in their own factories.
