Looking right at Donald Trump on Friday afternoon in the Oval Office, Gov. Kathy Hochul tried a different approach from telling him he was acting like a king for his attempt to end New York’s pay-for-entry congesting pricing system.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul wants to hire federal employees who have been fired as a result of cuts spearheaded by Elon Musk's DOGE, or Department of Government Efficiency."The federal government might say,

"The federal government might say, 'You're fired,' but here in New York, we say, 'You're hired,'" said Gov. Kathy Hochul in a news release.

Federal workers are getting mixed messages from the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk. CBS News New York's Natalie Brand reports.
