When it comes to the war in Ukraine, President Trump finds common cause with the world’s outlier states and stands against traditional U.S. allies like Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Japan and Italy.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was asked about the U.S. president's comments that Moscow could accept European peacekeepers in Ukraine.

"I hear that he's coming on Friday,” Trump said to reporters in the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon, speaking with nonchalance after several days of pressuring Zelenskyy. “Certainly, it's okay with me if he'd like to. He would like to sign it together with me."

The White House said on Tuesday it would decide which media organizations participate in the press pool that covers the president, wresting control away from the group of journalists that has done so for decades.

The White House announced it will choose which news outlets get to cover President Trump in close quarters or in events with limited access.
