The St. Augustine Fire Department rescued three people early Wednesday morning after their small boat capsized offshore on the North Shoals of the St. Augustine Inlet. Officials say units from the City of St. Augustine Fire Department, St. Johns County Fire Rescue, and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 4:15 a.m.

Five people were injured, including one critically, when a wave capsized their disabled boat about 200 yards off Bird Rock late Friday afternoon, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The severely injured person had to be extricated from the boat’s cabin while it was underwater, agency spokesperson Candace Hadley said.

Early Wednesday morning, multiple agencies worked together to rescue three people from the St. Augustine Inlet after their boat capsized.
