Caden Bodine had one of the greatest seasons in collegiate catching history. The Coastal Carolina catcher from Haddon Heights earned First Team All-American honors across several publications. His elite defensive ability, mixed with his consistent bat, made him the top catcher in the country.

The Orioles’ first three picks were Auburn catcher/corner outfielder Ike Irish (No. 19), Coastal Carolina catcher Caden Bodine (No. 30) and Wehiwa Aloy (No. 31). The No. 19 pick was the Orioles’ original first-round selection, while Nos. 30 and 31 were compensation for losing Corbin Burnes and Anthony Santander in free agency.

The catcher played his best year of college ball this past season with Coastal Carolina. “There’s no mistake for where he is today,” said his former high school coach Eric Newell.
