Mississippi State’s first-year head coach was known for his fast-paced, high-scoring offenses and we have seen flashes of that style of offense this season. But seeing those flashes against Georgia instead of Eastern Kentucky or Arizona State is a great sign. It also shows that, with time, this offense can be special in future seasons.

The Georgia Bulldogs competed in an offensive shootout against Mississippi State at home, winning 41-31. Carson Beck had the most passing yards in his career and etched his name in the record books for his performance. Georgia needed every bit of it, as the defense, especially the secondary, made numerous mistakes.

Georgia should not have allowed Mississippi State to get 31 points on them, plain and simple. The Bulldogs are a team that is 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the SEC, averaging 27.4 points per game, and Georgia is ranked nationally at No. 4. They managed zero sacks on Michael Van Buren Jr.
