Philadelphia Phillies' power-hitter Kyle Schwarber inched closer to two Phillies' legends Wednesday when he became the third fastest in franchise history to hit 34 home runs in a season.

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber topped Mark McGwire for most home runs among a player’s first 1,000 hits, hitting long ball No. 319 on Friday.

During Friday’s game against the New York Yankees, Schwarber tied the game in the fifth inning with a two-run home run that marked his 1,000th career hit. His 319th home run became the most homers by any player when reaching the 1,000-hit milestone in MLB history.
