Charlie Heller, the bereaved rookie vigilante Rami Malek plays in The Amateur, is all brains and no brawn. That sets him apart from his colleagues at the CIA, where he works as a cryptographer, running numbers while they run down suspects.

"It's delivered in a way that’s quite aggressive," Malek tells EW. "But not in a way that a makeup artist had to be flown in to fix the color of my cheek."
