The threat of heavy rain is “slight” for this weekend, but with the ground fully saturated in Kerr County even small amounts of rainfall could cause flooding.

In areas that see rainfall and increased cloud cover, temperatures are expected to remain below seasonal averages into next week, providing some relief from the summer heat. However, much of central and southern Texas, areas in the recovery phase from the catastrophic flooding, will face dangerous heat instead of renewed flooding.

Arizona is mostly seeing hot and dry weather conditions, but Yavapai County officials are warning about the dangers of flash floods during monsoon season. The warnings come as rescue teams continue to search for victims of last weekend’s floods in central Texas.
