Before Gehry became an architectural icon, he primarily designed residential buildings. In the 1970s, he lived in this Santa Monica residence with his wife, Berta. Though they initially bought a 1920s Dutch Colonial home, Gehry gave the property his unique twist with chainlink and raw plywood.
