The New Orleans Saints are hiring former Alabama OC and Super Bowl champion Doug Nussmeier to be their next OC alongside new head coach Kellen Moore.
Philadelphia Eagles assistant coach Doug Nussmeier will be interviewed by the New Orleans Saints for their vacant offensive coordinator position. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, New Orleans is speaking to Nussmeier on Sunday.
For the last few weeks, it was expected that Moore would be taking the job in New Orleans, especially after NFL Network reported that the Saints planned to meet with Moore after the Super Bowl. He’s also likely to bring Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier with him.
Doug Nussmeier hasn’t yet considered a future scenario in which he is coaching Super Bowl 2025 MVP Jalen Hurts between possessions while simultaneously stealing glances at the field to make sure that Hurts’ counterpart is doing everything that he was taught.

In fact, the Saints were extremely busy filling out their offensive staff on Tuesday. Joel Thomas returns to the team as RB coach. Thomas was in that same position for New Orleans from 2015-2023 before serving as RB coach for the New York Giants last season.
Kellen Moore has made his decision for Saints’ offensive coordinator. Doug Nussmeier is following him to New Orleans after winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles:
Nussmeier has worked with Moore since they both joined the Cowboys staff in 2018, following Moore to the Chargers and Eagles afterwards.
