The New York Mets secured relief pitcher Gregory Soto in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, first reported by Andy Martino of SNY. The deal sends prospects Wellington Arecena and Cameron Foster to Baltimore.
The New York Mets have finalized a deal to acquire left-handed relief pitcher Gregory Soto from the Baltimore Orioles. In exchange, the Orioles will receive minor league right-handed pitchers Wellington Aracena and Cameron Foster.
The Guardians twice came back from a deficit to beat the Orioles, 10-5, on a night in which Cleveland collected 14 hits.
The Baltimore Orioles are reportedly "close to being open for business with all available players," per league sources to SNY's Andy Martino.
The Orioles again dipped into the college ranks during the first round of the MLB Draft, selecting Auburn University catcher/outfielder Ike Irish with the No. 19 overall pick during the 2025 edition of the event Sunday night.
The Guardians are now 4-1 since the All-Star break and 10-2 since their 10-game skid following a second consecutive win against the Orioles.
