After missing five games due to a quad strain, Caitlin Clark returned to action on Saturday afternoon, and helped the Indiana Fever hand the reigning champion New York Liberty their first loss of the season in front of a raucous crowd inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White knew Clark’s adrenaline would be high to open the game. It was, as Clark fired the first of her 14 3-point attempts on Indiana’s first offensive possession. But did White anticipate a 25-point first half from her superstar guard?

The Indiana Fever faced the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night at Gateway Center Arena, searching for their third straight victory without the help of star guard Caitlin Clark. After a hard-fought, back-and-forth first-half performance by both teams, they headed to the locker room tied 33-33 at the break.
