Passenger train service in the U.S. Northeast was still not back to full capacity early Friday afternoon after crews worked overnight to repair a power outage in Connecticut.

Commuters in New York and Connecticut were experiencing heavy delays Friday morning, after a Thursday evening outage hampered Amtrak and Metro-North Railroad service through Connecticut.

Fire officials said two Metro-North trains had to be evacuated after the lines came down on the tracks in Fairfield.
