The Guardians got on board the Big Rig and rode Gavin Williams’ dominant pitching performance and David Fry’s career day at the plate to an 8-2 victory over the Athletics on Sunday at Progressive Field.
David Fry had a career-high four RBIs, Gavin Williams struck out 11 and the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Athletics 8-2 to take the weekend series.

The Guardians may well be sellers at the trade deadline this season. Cleveland sits 12 games behind the Tigers in the American League Central and 4.5 games back in the Wild Card chase. They won six of their final ten heading into the Break which has them positioned squarely on the fence in terms of buying or selling at the deadline.
Guardians team president Chris Antonetti said the club is focused on its future rather than talk of its past nickname.
