The winner of the annual series between the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners will now win the Vedder Cup. Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder designed the trophy.

With support from Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, the Mariners and Padres announced Friday that the two “natural rivals” will formally compete for the Vedder Cup.

Musician Eddie Vedder can call many places home. He was born in Evanston, Ill., where he obtained his Chicago Cubs fandom. He spent much of his adolescence in San Diego, and his band Pearl Jam is among the quintessential Seattle groups.
