After missing all of the 2024 season following Tommy John surgery -- and a chunk of ‘25 due to a shoulder injury -- Orioles closer Félix Bautista will now miss a large percentage (if not all) of the ‘26 campaign.
The Orioles announced on Wednesday that their All-Star relief pitcher Félix Bautista underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum. Bautista will now miss at least the next 12 months as he recovers from the surgery.
One day after Orioles closer Félix Bautista underwent surgery to repair the rotator cuff and labrum in his right shoulder, catcher Adley Rutschman landed on the injured list again with a strained oblique and might not return in 2025.
BOSTON–What happened? After the Orioles traded four key relief pitchers last July and lost closer Félix Bautista to a shoulder injury, they’ve been searching for relievers to close out the ninth inning.
