Pokémon developer Game Freak has acknowledged a massive data breach, which has seen thousands of confidential documents shared online related to the franchise, and its employees. In a statement published on Sunday, the company claimed that over 2,000 pieces of employee information have been stolen from the company.

: Game Freak has issued a statement confirming the company suffered a data breach in August 2024.The company said its server was illegally accessed, with 2,606 cases of current, former, and contract employee names and email addresses accessed.

While the latest mainline Pokemon game released by Nintendo was Scarlet and Violet back in 2022, we do know that there is another game in the works titled Pokemon Legends: Z-A which is set to hit the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025.
