Denver police closed roads near the state Capitol on Thursday night during a demonstration against President Donald Trump’s policies, including mass deportations and Medicaid cuts.

Chicago is the flagship city for the 'Good Trouble Lives On' demonstrations Thursday honoring the late civil rights leader John Lewis.

One protestor, Jim Clark, said he's been attending rallies since the beginning of the year. He said he attended Thursday in response to the defunding of the USAID and the resulting food waste, and funding cuts to public media like NPR. Clark said he protests for the sake of his children and grandchildren.

Across Lane County, community members participated in "Good Trouble Lives On" demonstrations, denouncing Trump administration policies.

Events are planned for throughout Los Angeles County Thursday for “Good Trouble Lives On,” billed by organizers as a “national day of nonviolent action” on the fifth anniversary of the death of Rep. John Lewis,
