Three Mariano's grocery stores in the Chicago suburbs are closing as part of a larger move by its parent company, Kroger.

The Cincinnati-based grocery store chain made the announcement on Friday, saying it plans to close down 60 grocery stores over the next 18 months. As a result, about 5 percent of its 1,239 locations will be affected.

Grocery chain Kroger just announced that it will be closing quite a few locations after its failed merger last year - and not all of them are Kroger stores.
