Britain is set to be battered by winds of up to 90mph from Storm Eowyn as the Met Office warned of a danger to life in parts of the country over the next few days. Very strong winds are forecast to strike the north of England,

Winds as strong as nearly 60mph are set to hit Nottinghamshire on Friday (January 24) as Storm Eowyn arrives in the county. The storm, which is currently brewing over the North Atlantic, will hit northern parts of the UK during the early hours of Friday morning.
