Spirit Airlines announced its common stock will be traded on the NYSE American exchange effective April 29, a move that management hopes will draw more investors.

Spirit Airlines said on Thursday it has received an approval to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange, weeks after the low-cost carrier emerged from bankruptcy. The company said its shares are expected to begin trading on April 29.
