Knoxville and East Tennessee high temperatures will only be on the cusp of freezing or below at least through Jan. 31, according to the National Weather Service. The highest temperature Knoxville will see all week is 35 degrees.

It also was fined $500 after a Concord Christian coach exchanged a text message with a student’s mother during the summer about the student’s participation “in basketball and potentially volleyball,” the TSSAA letter stated.

Jordan Allen, who played two seasons for Tennessee football, has died. He was 27. Allen played nine games for the Vols, all during the 2018 season.

Soda, beer and all canned carbonated beverages can explode when they freeze, according to The Food Republic. In cold temperatures, liquids in sealed cans or bottles will freeze and expand. The drink's carbon dioxide will have nowhere to escape and eventually the building pressure may cause the soda to, well ... pop.
