Thousands went without power Tuesday, during the coldest day of the year, and Port Aransas residents suffered the most outages, with more than 3,000 customers affected.
According to AEP Texas, 3,8000 neighbors across the Coastal Bend experienced power outages after freezing temperatures Tuesday morning. The areas impacted the most are Port Aransas and Hebbronville.
AEP will begin restoring power in sections of the community. At 6:29 AM, Jim Hogg Co. Water Control & Improvement Dist. 2 alerted customers that the power outage may result in reduced water pressure.
