Premier League to launch 'full investigation' as Antoine Semenyo reports racist abuse at Anfield
The Premier League has said it will launch a full investigation after Liverpool 's curtain-raiser against Bournemouth at Anfield was halted when visiting forward Antoine Semenyo reported being racially abused by a spectator.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has condemned the racial abuse aimed at Antoine Semenyo and has offered support to the striker.
In an atmosphere filled with respect and emotion, the fans sang the anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone, displayed scarves and a tifo with the colors of Portugal, the initials "DJ" and Jota's number 20. Players and coaching staff, visibly moved, participated in the tribute, while floral offerings were placed outside the stadium in his memory.
