Evacuation orders have been lifted in both Nassau and St. Johns counties, and Duval County didn't require such measures. Some flooding, fallen trees and damaged homes were reported, but the area escaped the brunt of the storm just a two weeks after Hurricane Helene.

Jacksonville has no evacuation orders from Hurricane Milton but travelers from South Florida and Central Florida are filling up city's hotels.

Many first responders rescued people from high water and damaged homes in the wake of Hurricane Milton. And, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor wanted to make sure they knew they were appreciated Tuesday night.

There have been 23 confirmed deaths in connection with Hurricane Milton, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
