When DIRECTV takes over DISH to create the largest pay-TV provider in the U.S., the question of what happens with their related streaming services remains. The traditional TV world underwent a seismic shift last week as DIRECTV announced that it will purchase DISH combining the two largest satellite TV companies in the United States into the biggest single pay-TV provider in the country,

AT&T said Monday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it will receive payments from TPG and DirecTV for its remaining 70% stake in the satellite TV company. This includes $1.7 billion in the second half of the year and $5.4 billion next year. The remaining amount will be paid in 2029.

DirecTV is buying Dish and Sling for $1 and the assumption of nearly $10 billion in debt, marking one of the biggest pay-TV mergers ever.
