Twenty Palestinians were killed at an aid distribution site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, in what the U.S.-backed group said was a crowd surge instigated by armed agitators.
"The aim is to sketch out post-war Gaza and prepare the recognition of a Palestinian state by France and countries that will engage in this approach," Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in Brussels before a meeting of European Union foreign ministers.
One in 10 children screened in clinics run by the United Nations refugee agency in Gaza since 2024 has been malnourished. Since January 2024, UNRWA said it had screened more than 240,000 boys and girls under the age of five in its clinics.
