Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing a Minnesota Democratic state lawmaker and her husband while posing as a police officer, Governor Tim Walz said.

The primary suspect in the fatal shooting of a Democratic representative in Minnesota on Saturday has reportedly been taken into police custody. Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was arrested by authorities near his farm in Green Isle,

Boelter claimed to have a doctorate of education, and said he spent extensive time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa — where he was seen in videos apparently preaching on stage.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office unsealed the criminal complaint charging Vance Boelter with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
