This form of government provides for election of a mayor and seven council members. Three council members may be elected at large and four are elected by wards; and serve four-year concurrent or staggered terms. The Council powers consist of: • Adopting Resolutions and Ordinances. • Reviewing, revising and adopting the municipal budget.

Membership: The Environmental Commission consists of seven (7) members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor and all of whom shall be residents of the City of Ocean City. One of the members may also be a member of the Ocean City Planning Board. City Council appoints two Alternate Members.
