First gang nor mai (bamboo soup) of the season with freshly harvested bamboo shoots from my garden. Can you guess what crucial herb I'm missing? My sister went to three Chinese grocery stores looking for it but they didn't have any. Please bring a Vietnamese market to our area cause this herb is used a lot in Vietnamese cuisine too. But gang nor mai was still so yummy without the herb cause of the naturally sweet flavor of fresh bamboos and my other favorite is hedpaw (puff mushrooms)! Ma der. M
