In 2022, Zoo Knoxville announced that African elephants Tonka, Jana, and Edie will be moving to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, as part of their end-of-life care plan. However, moving and elephant is not a simple task. The elephants will make the trip to The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee in a special crate.
