“Freefall” is the 17th episode of Miami Vice’s 5th season, and the series finale. It premiered on May 21, 1989. ••• Sometime later, Crockett leaves the St. Vitus Dance (his boat/home) for the final time, having packed his few personal belongings into a bag; Tubbs pulls up in a cab and the officers briefly reminisce about their five-year run together. Tubbs tells Crockett he intends to head back to New York, while Crockett plans to head further south, hoping to escape his life in Miami altogether
