Milford Sound is the kind of place that makes me want to be alone with a great view and my camera for hours at a time. I love New Zealand so much, and one of my favorite ways to see it is by helicopter! Milford Sound is the site of one of the steepest mountains in the world, Mitre Peak, which goes from sea level to up over 5,500 feet. Which feels MASSIVE when you’re at the base of it! It’s called a Sound, but this area is actually a fiord! The only one of New Zealand’s that’s accessible by road.
