10kg PR with much more in the tank. SSB is always weird - you can cheat a ton more by leaning forward than you can in a squat and thus it becomes easier. But if you actually stay upright it's more difficult. I prefer staying upright. I don't have anything against people turning it more into a hinge, to each their own. But when I squat, I want to squat. Also it becomes less fatiguing this way. With that said, SSB squat is one of my favorite variations. It just feels fucking amazing. Give it a try

When I have to get ready for a big lift, like the zercher jefferson curl max out, I rarely change things by a lot. 1 drop the max effort squat, takes squats easier in general and all leg work easier in general. Unless you really have to peak for a big competition the chance is you don't need to make drastic changes leading up to. Just removing a couple sets and dropping the RPE is enough.
